Mechanical Engineering, Materials and their Processing continue to evolve, thanks to the constant efforts of researchers who contribute to science every day with a view to making humanity’s life simpler and more comfortable. Some of these efforts are truly disruptive, constituting milestones for future development. The Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing aims to be a vehicle for disseminating knowledge developed around this scientific area, involving subareas such as mechanical design, simulation, materials characterization, materials processing, manufacturing, processes optimization, industrial management, maintenance, sustainability, etc., through the publication of top-notch works. All contributions will be double, or triple reviewed to ensure high quality of the published work. Comprehensive bibliographic review papers that are properly structured and organized and that constitute an added value for new researchers in each sub-area, as well as truly innovative research papers, will be accepted. Review articles must have more than 120 bibliographical references, describe in detail the methodology followed, and present structured conclusions and future prospects, helping new researchers to become fully aware of each subject covered by reading the document. Research papers must be structured using Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions. Papers that do not have a capable discussion, based on a previously conducted literature review, comparing the evolution brought about by the work they intend to publish, will not be accepted. Authors should be concerned with presenting works on topics where there is a real gap in the literature and high novelty. Submissions from authors whose work meets the criteria indicated above are very welcome.
Thus, I would like to invite scholars to submit high-quality contributions regarding the following topics:
- Mechanical and structural design
- Mechanical modelling/Finite Elements Analysis
- Mechanics of solids
- Dynamic systems
- Automotive design
- Aircraft modelling and design
- New materials development
- Materials processing
- Materials characterization
- Surfaces analysis and characterization
- Optimization of manufacturing processes
- Robotics and automation
- Maintenance research
- Quality research
- Operational excellence in industry and services
- New developments in industrial management
- Thermodynamics and heat transfer
- Sustainability
- Green manufacturing
- Smart manufacturing
- Logistics research
- Mathematical models applied to Mechanical Engineering
The Editorial Board was carefully selected, including renowned scientists from the various subareas of Mechanical Engineering. In the meantime, the Editorial Board may be expanded based on a careful selection of Researchers who are available to actively contribute to strengthening this team and the success of the journal. This team is hopeful that, together with the Reviewers and the Scilight Press team, we will successfully carry out this project, transforming this journal into a reference in terms of innovation and scientific dissemination.
